With a warm atmosphere and attentive service, it shines as a spot for both casual dining and special events. Customers rave about the delicious food and welcoming environment, making it ideal for occasions like the golden wedding anniversary celebrated by Jacqueline Hodgson and her guests. The robust menu features enticing options such as delectable milkshakes like the BiScoffing and comforting breakfast dishes, all served hot and on warmed plates, a thoughtful touch noted by satisfied diners.
The bottomless brunch is a highlight at The Lounge, praised for its generous portions and meticulous preparation, as Reanna Louise highlighted in her review. Even casual visits for drinks, like David Hunt's experience on the terrace, showcase the café's charm and ability to accommodate a lively atmosphere while remaining welcoming to pets.
However, some patrons, like Ben Millan, feel a touch of pretentiousness in the presentation, with certain dishes falling short of expectations. Reviews for The Lounge
Review highlights
Based on 175 reviewsPublic reviews of The Lounge highlight a warm and inviting atmosphere, praised for its friendly and attentive service across both cafe and cocktail bar experiences. The food is generally noted for being tasty, well-cooked, and served with thoughtful touches such as warmed plates and generous portions. Many customers appreciate the venue as a suitable spot for special occasions due to its excellent ambiance and accommodating staff. While the drink selection, including unique offerings like biscoff milkshakes, receives positive mentions, some feedback suggests occasional inconsistencies in food presentation and a perception of the menu attempting to be overly elaborate. Overall, The Lounge is recognized as a charming and comfortable destination that balances quality with a cozy social environment.
Had a late breakfast , just a small one, and it did us very well. Food was hot and tasty and the plates were warmed which was a good touch. Service was friendly and there were a fair few customers. We will definitely go back
We came in for bottomless brunch and it was amazing, service was amazing so friendly and attentive glass was never empty for long. Food was also very nice, cooked beautiful and very tasty and good portions. Such a lovely place!!
We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary party in January. We had 35 guests all of whom had a Fantastic night. The food was excellent The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was excellent. Would highly recommend it for any special occasion.
We called in for a drink on a Friday afternoon and sat in the sunshine on the terrace. It was really nice. Drinks were excellent and a fair price. We liked it that much we decided to return Saturday evening but unfortunately we didn't go in there was a massive sign saying private party at the door so se went to the pub 2 doors down that was very nice. I would definitely like to go again. Dogs are welcome. We didn't eat here but it did look good.
The food is cooked well and tastes fine, but it feels like the place is trying too hard to be fancy. A bacon and brie "sandwich" is missing half the toasted ciabatta. The american pancakes aren't really American style. Tasty enough, but lacking quality in place of fanciness. The biscoff milkshake however was perfectly balanced and tasted great.
Lovely place to go for a few drinks. The staff were so friendly and the owner even took the time to have a chat with us which was really nice. Great selection of drinks that are reasonably priced. I did not have food as we were having drinks so I can't comment on it. We will definitely be back again when we come back to Hornsea.
We had a lovely bottomless brunch here for a hen do. Lily and Alex really looked after us all and made sure we never had an empty glass the whole time we were here. Thank you for treating the brides to a shot!! And thanks to the chefs Dan and Dave, the food came at the same time despite all of the different food orders. Would recommend!
